Responsiveness Care - Birth to Three Years

This Responsiveness Care – Birth to Three Years course from Glasgow Clyde College helps participants to understand and adhere to the National Care Standards Birth to Three Years document to Responsive care.

Participants will learn what responsive is and how this relates to the needs of the child, managing activities to meet the interests of the child, and how to carry out and report in children’s learning.

The course will also discuss the Learning and Teaching Scotland materials on planning activities which enable responsiveness.

Course content

You will learn:
  • what is meant by responsive care and how this meets the needs of the child 
  • to identify activities and planning that is able to change according to the interests of the child 
  • how these activities link into National Care Standards 
  • how to carry out effective observation and reporting on children's learning 
  • to relate the Birth to Three document to Responsive Care, linking to the National Care Standards 
  • observation and discussion of Learning and Teaching Scotland materials on planning appropriate activities that enable responsiveness.
