HND Biological Sciences (Biomedical route)

This HND Biomedical Sciences (Biomedical route) course at Glasgow Clyde College focuses on chemical and biological science with a strong focus on laboratory work.

It would prepare you for employment in science areas such as research and industrial laboratories, biotechnology, chemical, microbiological, pharmaceutical, and environmental industries, and in particular NHS biomedical laboratories as well as progression on to university courses. 

Students with a relevant HNC would be considered for direct entry on to second year of this course.

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • Higher (or equivalent) in Biology/Human Biology AND Higher Chemistry at grade C or above AND SCQF 5 (S Grade, Int 2 or National 5) 1/2 or A/B passes in Maths and English.
  • Completion of a Higher (Level 6) NQ/NC Science course.
  • Other relevant work experience and skills will also be considered.

You can apply for 2nd or 3rd year entry to relevant university degree courses or seek employment in industrial science, biomedical science, pharmaceutical science and environmental industries.
