Cabinet Secretary visits Glasgow Clyde College

Angela Constance Cabinet Secretary Visit 2016

Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, has visited Glasgow Clyde College to meet with Chair of the Board of Management Alex Linkston, Principal Susan Walsh OBE, and students and staff from a range of subject areas.

Following a meeting with the award-wining Glasgow Clyde College Students’ Association (GCCSA), the Cabinet Secretary was shown around the College’s Cardonald campus where she met with staff and students in the Fashion and Textiles department and viewed examples of their inspirational work.

She visited Healthcare students in their mock hospital wards and Construction students in the purpose-built Skills Centre, to learn about the exceptional quality of the industry-standard learning and teaching experience that is shared across Glasgow Clyde College.

GCCSA President Hollie Moran says: “Ms Constance got hands on in each department, from assisting a fashion student in sewing a skirt, to taking a healthcare student’s blood pressure! The visit by Ms Constance was also valuable to the GCCSA as it gave us the opportunity to showcase the positive and influential things we have been working hard on for the students at Glasgow Clyde.”
