Making the decision about career options can be a daunting prospect for your child. With so many options available to them such as further school study, college study, a modern apprenticeship or work, you can help guide them through the process by discussing the following types of questions with them:

  • Which subject/s do they enjoy the most and feel passionate about?
  • Which subject/s have you been the most successful in to date?
  • Which course would give them the most enjoyment and lead to a potential career they may have in mind?
  • Which course/s immediately grab their imagination and attention?
  • Vocational or academic? - Some courses are vocational, leading to a particular job, such as plumbing or childcare and others are more academic, such English or Maths, which generally lead to a wider range of work options. We offer both of these types of course here at Glasgow Clyde, but in general specialise in vocational courses.
  • Thinking about University following a vocational course? Many of our courses offer excellent progression routes onto University and we have close links with Universities across Scotland and the UK.
