Get in touch with a Student Adviser on 0141 272 3636 or info@glasgowclyde.ac.uk
Do I need to write a personal statement on my application form?
We would always advise you to write the best personal statement you possibly can, as this is often used by our teaching staff to help decide who will be interviewed. It's your opportunity to tell us why you think you are the best applicant for the course you have chosen and to show us that you have considered the course and your future career path.
Can I email someone with a question?
Yes, we have a general enquiry email address which is checked and responded to daily by our Student Advice team. You can contact the team at info@glasgowclyde.ac.uk
I can't go on the internet and I often struggle to use a computer. Can you help?
Yes. Please call our Student Advice Centres on 0141 272 3636 and ask to be connected to the Student Advice Centre or pop in to your local campus and we can give you access to a computer and guide you through the process.
Do I need an email address in order to apply?
Yes. Nearly all communication from Glasgow Clyde College will be sent to the email address you use when you apply. We would not recommend you use someone else’s email address, like your parents', partner's or a friend's. You should use an email address that you are able to access easily and readily at home.
What does my application status mean?
When you look at the status of your application, you'll see that these will change as your application is processed. The statuses and their meanings are:
Application Acknowledgement Sent
This means we've sent you an acknowledgement and your application is waiting to be checked.
Entry Criteria Checked
You have met the minimum entry criteria and we're waiting on interview dates or information dates to be arranged.
Decision On Hold - Awaiting Further Information From Faculty
Your application is with course team for them to check some details.
When will I hear back about my application?
You must continually check your “My Application” part of our website to keep up-to-date with the status of your application.
You will receive an acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your application. The status of your application will also update to 'Application Acknowledgement Sent'. You will then be informed via email of the outcome of your application and if there is a next step.
Please note that the delay between acknowledgement and outcome notifications might vary from a couple of weeks to several weeks, depending on the volume of applications received and/or on course-specific administration processes.
The webpage for the course you've applied for has a section called 'I've applied - what happens next?' and here you will see an outline of the timescales the course team are working to.
It is important that you check your emails for updates – remember to check your spam and junk folders.
If you are unsure about the status of your application, or what it means, please call 0141 272 9000 and ask for the Admissions Team.
Why was my application rejected so quickly?
Rejection may have been due to you having insufficient qualifications for that course, or it could be that you have not provided a personal statement or another piece of important information.
Please check to ensure that you meet the minimum entry qualifications.
If you are still unsure why you were rejected, please call 0141 272 9000 and ask for the Admissions Team. They can make enquiries to find out more about the reason for rejection.
When will I get an interview?
Interviews are ongoing throughout the year and you will be contacted by email, text or letter to confirm any potential interview.
