Why should you do an Adobe Illustrator for Fashion - beginners course? Adobe Illustrator has a wide and varied number of uses in the fashion industry and is an extremely beneficial skill to have in fashion design. Learn the ‘basics’ first, discover drawing tools and learn how to digitize your hand drawings to produce a professional fashion flat CAD.

The course is suitable for you if you are interested in learning how to use Illustrator to create fashion flat CADs at home or for work.

  • Navigating the home page
  • Creating & saving artboard files
  • Online tutorials
  • Using the menu bar, toolbox, and panels
  • Tracing garment silhouettes
  • Creating a small capsule range of fashion flat CAD’s

This course is perfect for those who are hand drawing designs and want to learn how to use Illustrator to digitize those sketches and add them to a portfolio. It is also beneficial for those who want to create fashion flat CAD’s to provide a manufacturer with a professional guide on how to construct your garment. This course is taught by Vicky Clark who has extensive industry experience and has been teaching at the college for 3 years.

Note:  Students will need a USB stick.

Entry requirements (minimum)

To take part in the Illustrator course you will have to have some form of experience in using computers, as it is essential for this class.
