CITB Employer Networks Funding

Glasgow Clyde College has joined the CITB’s Employer Networks, an initiative set up and funded by CITB aiming to simplify the way you get the support and funding you need to access the training you want.

If you are a CITB member, you can apply for funding to help towards your course fee. You can apply via the CITB by using the following link - Employer Networks - CITB. They will also advise if the training wish to complete is covered by the fund.

Employer Networks and Large Employer Fund Update - April 2026

Construction is entering a critical phase. With over £600 million committed by Government to address skills shortages and train up to 60,000 new workers, access to effective training support is more important than ever.

Employer participation in CITB programmes has risen 36% over the last four years, and to ensure sustainable funding across the sector, several changes will take effect from April 2026.  

Micro to Medium Employers

From April, micro to medium employers (1–249 employees) can continue to book training at 50% match funding, or at a fixed contribution for health and safety courses.

CITB’s total Employer Networks budget for 2026–27 is £11.5m, with employer caps set as follows:

Large Employers

From April, large employers (250+ employees) will no longer access Employer Networks. Instead, a new Large Employer Fund will be available for 2026–27. This fund offers up to £18,000 for any in‑scope training paid against a training plan or evidence of training and is designed as an interim fund while CITB works with large employers on future support.

  • Apprenticeship Grant
  • Travel to Train
  • Qualification Grant
  • Industry Impact Fund.
