This Introduction to Shiatsu and Acupressure course is aimed at those with an interest in Shiatsu and hands-on bodywork. Rooted in traditional Oriental Medicine, shiatsu incorporates the use of acupressure points to harmonize the energy or ki of the body by using direct pressure - usually from the thumbs or palms.
What will I learn?
Introduction to Shiatsu and Acupressure aims to give a basic understanding of the following principles:
- Connecting to the flow of ki (energy).
- The dynamic of Yin and Yang within all things - including ourselves!
- The application of a variety of Acupressure points on the body.
- How to give a basic Acupressure treatment to friends and family.
Before attending the class to maximise the practical application of shiatsu and acupressure please:
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely with trainers or flat shoes.
- Remove all jewellery except a wedding band
- Ensure fingernails are short and clean
