This NEBOSH General Certificate course provides an excellent overview of Health and Safety issues and is very useful for managers, supervisors and staff in all types of organisations. It is ideal for those who would like to start a career in this field or those already working in a Health and Safety role who are looking to gain a formal qualification.
What will I learn?
The new NEBOSH course covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge.
The course is delivered in association with NEBOSH centre number 890.
The new NEBOSH Exams:
NEBOSH General Certificate Unit NG1: Management of Health and Safety is now an open-book exam. You have 24 hours to complete questions based on a scenario given. More info at: https://www.nebosh.org.uk/open-book-examinations/
National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Unit NG2: Risk Assessment is an in-depth project done on your existing or previous place of work. To help you get on the right track there is even a checklist and an example to allow you to focus on what is being asked for. Your project is to be sent electronically.

Please note:
The 10-day course and exam will be on campus. The course costs include
- Course Books
- One sitting of both NG1 & NG2 exams.
The exam prep morning is online at home and participants will need access to a laptop, PC or other digital device.
Interview: There is an interview of 20-30 minutes which takes place after the Final exam, normally conducted on the Monday after the exam.
Entry requirements (minimum)
Anyone interested in this course must complete a pre-entry assessment form which is reviewed by BTAC. Upon positive review, you will be invited to make a payment to secure your place on the course. Please enquire for a copy of the assessment form.
This is an intensive course; it is desirable that you have a sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.

On successful completion of this course, you may progress onto:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health
- BSc in Occupational Health and Safety
- Postgraduate Certificate in Risk and Safety Management.
Making an application
For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.
Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
