Join our Introduction to Screen Printing course to learn hands-on techniques and produce a small edition of screenprints. You will learn to produce detailed marks such as painterly washes, linear drawings, photographic images, and text. Participants will learn how to print their images in several coloured layers onto paper and present their final artwork.
What will I learn?
During this Introduction to Screen Printing course, you will do the following:
- Select an appropriate image to work from
- Prepare stencils or make digital or hand-drawn images on film in preparation for exposing screen
- Coat screen with photographic emulsion
- Expose screen
- Identify colour palette
- Make print using multiple layers
- Present final artwork
Our experienced tutor will demonstrate the process and help you throughout the course. You will receive guidance for screen printing, as well as colour investigation and palette selection.
This class is suitable both for experienced students and those with no experience wanting to try something new.
