This course will cover how to develop your presentation skills through accessing and navigating PowerPoint. You will learn how to create a presentation from scratch, how to insert text, images, shapes, footers and text boxes, use the slide master tool, format slides, apply animation effects to images and text and how to add transition effects to slides and more. A more detailed course description is listed below. This course will develop your skills and confidence in using PowerPoint.

What will I learn?

This course will cover:

  • Creating, Saving, Opening and Closing a Presentation 
  • Adding a blank new slide and other types of new slides 
  • Inserting pictures from file and online 
  • Animating an image 
  • Adding Headers and Footers 
  • Text formatting and Text Effects 
  • Text boxes and adding text from another file 
  • Ordering and deletion of slides 
  • Printing – one slide, handouts, notes 
  • Creating slides with a theme – design and setup, colour schemes 
  • Alignment, spacing, bullets and numbering, indents 
  • Slide show 
  • Using Slide Master 
  • Adding: Action Buttons, Audio/Sound, Movies 
  • Tips for creating an effective Presentation 

This course is a one-day course and will be delivered at Cardonald Campus.

All materials are supplied by the college and will be available online.
