Did you know, we are currently the only college in Scotland offering millinery courses? We have excellent millinery facilities, with a large and varied hat block library for students to use.
In this 12-week will be delving into the world of felt millinery. Exploring the use of traditional tools and with traditional and non-traditional materials.
What will I learn?
Our twelve-week course is an advancement on millinery skills previously delivered in our Introduction and Advanced Millinery courses.
This course will allow you to experiment with a range of felt making techniques through a series of demonstrations and workshops, where you will be encouraged to explore both traditional and non-traditional uses of felt.
You will be exploring the uses of millinery, flat and thermoformable wool felt, and trimming with metallic foils, origami Petersham ribbon, felt flowers and pyrography to name a few.
You will also get the opportunity to design and create an entry for The Worshipful Company of Felt makers of London Design Awards 2025.
The course will be taught by Shona Crozer, a milliner with over 18 years’ experience.
Entry requirements (minimum)
This course has no formal entry requirements but a keen interest in millinery is essential and previous experience for this course would be beneficial.
