This FEDANT-accredited Antenatal Education Training program is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and proficient skills to prepare parents for birth and postnatal experiences. The curriculum explores guiding parents through pregnancy, birth preparation and nurturing their newborns in the initial postnatal period. Moreover, participants will gain an understanding of structuring modules, along with organising and leading workshops.
Students will be introduced to communication skills, values and qualities required to work with pregnant women and people, including the importance of intercommunication skills and working collaboratively to deliver effective person-centred care. Learners will also learn about the physical changes during pregnancy and immediately following birth, including the development of the fetus and antenatal screening processes, obstetric emergencies and medical conditions—the birthing experience and how to support individuals through this by developing teaching and mentoring and teaching skills.
Upon completing the program, you will have the essential skills to proficiently plan and conduct antenatal education sessions and newborn care classes.
