Student Visit to Honeywell

Honeywell Visit

The Business and Finance with Digital Technologies (Level 6) class from the Langside Campus were invited to visit the Honeywell Newhouse site recently to learn about their various departments and how they manage their global business operations. Honeywell are very keen to engage with the college sector and give students real life experiences

Key members of staff at Honeywell - a Fortune 500 company who operate right across the world - provided the students with an overview of their products and services, which took in health and safety, human resources, finance, marketing, and trade compliance. The trip rounded off with an exciting tour of their manufacturing operations on site which included new technology investment, inventory control systems and their pioneering use of AI/robotics.

Our students had a great experience putting the skills and knowledge they have acquired as Business and Finance students into the context of a global organisation operating in various industries. They also found it extremely worthwhile to hear the pathways of these key members of staff within the organisation. Many of their career journeys were quite motivational. Overall, the visit really cemented our students understanding of industry and exposed them to the many opportunities that are potentially open to them.

A huge thank you is extended to Honeywell’s European Critical Site Support Regional Lead, Gary Kennedy.
