In its post-merger evaluation report for Glasgow Clyde College, the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) has formally stated that the merger undertaken to form Glasgow Clyde College was implemented well within a challenging context. The SFC states there is firm evidence of the college’s success to-date in delivering the key academic and educational benefits for stakeholders.

The evaluation was conducted after taking into account a range of documentary evidence and talks with staff, students, trade unions and other stakeholders. The SFC states “the messages we heard from students confirmed that the learning experience at Glasgow Clyde College is overwhelmingly positive. Employer representatives and other stakeholders we spoke to were immensely positive about the benefits of working with Glasgow Clyde College and its ability as a larger college of scale to meet the skills needs of its local community and Glasgow more widely.”

Glasgow Clyde College Principal and Chief Executive Susan Walsh, OBE states “From the very beginning, Glasgow Clyde College set out to be a great place to study and to work. I am immensely proud of the achievements of the staff in so many areas, and this report is a fantastic recognition of their contribution and the College's contribution to learning in Glasgow. Every external review and report we've had since merger has commented on the commitment and professionalism of staff, the great partnerships we have and always putting students first. Clyde’s ability to focus on continual improvement has helped us achieve this very positive report and bodes well for the College as we leave merger behind and look to a successful future.”
