Glasgow Clyde College celebrates bumper awards season
Glasgow Clyde College is celebrating a quadruple win, as well as two highly commended titles, during the education sector’s award season in November.
Among the winning initiatives was the College’s Beauty with a Conscience project, which won the innovation category at the SQA Star awards, as well as being highly commended in the partnership category at the same ceremony.
Hospitality student Fathima Irshad was also recognised with a lifelong learning candidate award, which celebrates those who have overcome obstacles and committed to achieving continued learning and SQA qualifications.
The College’s Mentally Healthy College initiative was highly commended for promoting inclusion at the SQA Star awards, and won the Health Promoting College award at the College Development Network (CDN) Awards last week (21 November) and then went on to be awarded the overall Judges Award for Healthy Lives. The College was also commended for its schools’ portal in the innovation category.
Jon Vincent, Principal of Glasgow Clyde College said: “This is a brilliant end to what has been a fantastic 2019 for Glasgow Clyde College. We know how hard our staff work to deliver more than just a curriculum to our students, and to be recognised for initiatives like Beauty with a Conscience and Mentally Healthy College cements this. Congratulations to all involved, as well as our students who make everything we do worthwhile. ”
