Discretionary Funds now open
Additional funds are available for students to apply for help towards their housing cost or course-related hardship.
Housing Costs
Full Time students who are paying their own accommodation costs and are ineligible for Universal Credit or Housing Benefit (You must be named on the housing documents to qualify)
General Hardship
Students who are experiencing financial difficulties such as utility bills, additional travel or study costs not covered by your Bursary or Loan
Essential Blended Learning Costs
Students who have incurred additional costs as a result of essential blended learning aspects of their course (ie purchase of laptop or wifi)
To Qualify
- You must meet the general residency criteria
- Students on HN level courses must have taken out their maximum loan
- Be named on tenancy or mortgage agreement (Housing Costs)
- Be ineligible for Universal Credit/Housing Benefit (Housing Cost)
- Provide evidence of housing costs / general hardship

- Applications can take up to 4 weeks before an award is processed
