The National Progression Award (NPA) in Sport Coaching Through Play will develop your knowledge and skills of the coaching process - planning, delivering and evaluating.
The course takes a practical approach, and you will have the opportunity to take part in all aspects of coaching and playing various sports both indoor and outdoor.
In addition, you will take part in sports such as, badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, rugby, hockey and American football.
Qualification Breakdown
National Progression Award in Play in a Sports Environment – SCQF Level 6
- Provide play sessions in a sport environment
- Health, safety and well-being of children and young people in a sport environment
- Working with children and young people to provide play in a sport environment
Entry requirements
You must have:
- Three passes at National 5
- a passionate interest in playing sport, coaching sport and/or personal fitness or fitness instructing
Target Year Group S5 and S6
Attendance Pattern
You will attend college on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 13:30 - 16:00
Progression Pathways
After successful completion of this course, you may have the opportunity to internally progress on to another course within Glasgow Clyde. This would be dependent on your attendance, achievement, and commitment to this course; along with the level and relevance of your other qualifications.
