Sport and Fitness
The sports industry is a multi-million-pound sector which offers a diverse range of employment opportunities which could take you anywhere.
Glasgow Clyde College offers a comprehensive range of courses in both sports coaching and fitness, health and exercise from SCQF level 4 through to HND which not only focuses on practical experience but also offers underpinning knowledge in sports topics such as anatomy and physiology, first aid and nutrition.
Our courses also give you the opportunity to gain extra, nationally recognised professional accreditations as part of your studies as many National Governing Body Awards such as Football, Badminton, Child Protection, Go Mountain Biking, Handball, Pool Lifeguard and First Aid are built into our courses.
We have excellent links with employers such as Glasgow Life, David Lloyd and Pure Gym as well as local authorities which means that you can do work placements in settings that help put your learning into practice.
We also offer specialist qualifications in the coaching of football delivered in partnership with Celtic Football Club. These courses are designed to develop technical abilities, tactical game understanding and knowledge as well as practical coaching skills with many former students going on to employment within Celtic Football Club.
Sports Facilities
Our sports facilities are designed to give sports students a winning experience with a games hall at each of our campuses as well as three fitness suites, two conditioning rooms and two outdoor AstroTurf pitches.
