Did you know, we are currently the only college in Scotland offering millinery courses? We have excellent millinery facilities, with a large and varied block library for students to use!
This 12 week course is an introduction into the world of millinery where you will learn the creative skills and secrets required to make hats/ headpieces using both traditional and non-traditional methods.
You will have time to complete at least two finished hats/headpieces or millinery accessories in that time.
What will I learn?
The course will allow you to experiment with a range of millinery techniques and materials through a series of demonstrations and workshops, where you will be encouraged to explore both traditional and non-traditional millinery materials. You will be looking at using two of the most popular millinery materials, Sinamay and Felt in particular. You will also look at predicted millinery trends and colours for Autumn/ Winter 2024/ 2025.
The course will be taught by Shona Crozer, a milliner with over 17 years experience. She has been the millinery lecturer at Glasgow Clyde College for over 6 years.
This course is suitable for individuals with no previous millinery skills but who have an interest in learning the creative skill of hat making.
